New Clinkerization Unit at Rawan commissioned
UltraTech announces the commissioning a new clinkerization plant of 10,000 tonnes per day (3.3 million tonnes per annum) capacity at its Rawan Cement Works in Chhattisgarh. This will mean greater availability of cement in the East Zone. The new clinkerization unit is a state-of-the–;art plant that is highly automated and is equipped with the roller press technology for raw grinding that is more power efficient and consumes lesser water as compared to the VRM technology. Dust emissions are lower than those stipulated by regulation. The plant is capable of using a variety of alternative fuels.

The best of technology providers, consultants and contractors have partnered with UltraTech for the project –; Humboldt Wedag and Pfeiffer of Germany, Siemens, Holtec, BAPL, HAPBCo and Petron. UltraTech has left no stone unturned to ensure the quality and sustainability of construction, equipment and processes in our plant. The project was completed with a good record of safety and that there were no fatalities on site.
Along with the clinkerization plant at Rawan, a captive power plant of 30 MW capacity as well as a waste heat recovery plant of 15.3 MW capacity are also planned. Moreover, a railway siding, wagon tippler and automated clinker loading system will complete the entire infrastructure at site.
