UltraTech bags Asian CSR - Governance and Society Award
UltraTech Cement won the prestigious 'Intel –; AIM Corporate Responsibility Award –; Governance and Society: Asian CSR Award 2013' for its commendable work among the underprivileged and highest standards of governance. The award was presented by the President of Indonesia, His Excellency Susilo Bambang Yudhoyonoon on 24 September 2013 at Bali.
UltraTech won the award from among 39 entries across 13 countries.
Mr. Rajiv Parekh, Commercial, UltraTech Mining, Indonesia, received the award on behalf of the company.
Mr. Parekh says, "CSR terminology is now changing from the term Corporate Social Responsibility to Company Stakeholder Relations. A global corporate's focus on CSR has increased. It is clear that CSR is evolving. It is moving from 'Social License to Operate' to 'Stake Holder Management' by Social Innovation and Transformation."
The Asian CSR Awards have been instituted by the Asian Institute of Management (Manila) and sponsored by Intel. Since its inception in 2002, Aditya Birla Group has won the Award five times –; 2002: Hindalco, 2005: Grasim (Pulp and Fibre Division), 2009: Grasim, 2010: UltraTech and this year.
