The Research & Development (R&D) Centre at UltraTech Cement has received accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
NABL is an autonomous body under the Quality Council of India, and gives accreditation to laboratories for their technical competence of testing and calibration within the given scope of the laboratory. Test results from NABL accredited laboratories are acceptable globally and are considered equivalent to accreditations received by MRA (Mutual Recognition Agreement) partners of International Laboratory Accreditation Corporation.
In the cement industry in India, most of the labs are ISO 9001 certified, but the NABL accreditation is far more recognized by various stakeholders. NABL accredited labs use procedures specifically developed to determine technical competence, thus assuring stakeholders that the test results supplied by the concerned lab are accurate and reliable. The NABL accreditation brings higher credibility to UltraTech brand as the laboratory results will be measured according to both national and international standards.
The accreditation of our R&D Centre is expected to further strengthen customer confidence and satisfaction, and reinforce our brand value. Many of our loyal as well as potential institutional customers visit the R&D Centre for carrying out various tests from time to time, and this accreditation will make them more confident of the results generated at the Centre.
