Simple tips to store your cement

Cement is sensitive to moisture. If it gets wet, it hardens and becomes useless. Follow these simple steps to protect your material on-site:

  • Keep it off the ground: Place bags on wooden planks or pallets. Never put them directly on the floor, as moisture seeps up from the ground.

  • Leave a gap from walls: Stack bags at least 12 to 18 inches away from walls. This allows air to circulate and prevents dampness from the wall.

  • Cover it tightly: Use a waterproof tarpaulin or thick plastic sheet to cover the pile. Make sure the cover hangs over the sides to keep rain and humidity out.

  • Use old stock first: If you have bags from different delivery dates, use the older ones first. Cement loses strength over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

When you connect with a supplier through our platform, we recommend taking two steps upon delivery:

  • Check the MRP and BIS Mark: Ensure the ISI mark (BIS certification) is printed on the bag.

  • Check the Manufacturing Date: Cement loses strength over time. Fresh cement (typically within 30-45 days of packing) is ideal. Our verified suppliers are vetted to ensure they adhere to stock rotation policies, but we always suggest a physical check.

Delivery feasibility depends on the supplier's logistics network and the accessibility of your site. While most verified suppliers cover city limits and major suburbs, access for heavy vehicles in narrow lanes or remote areas may be restricted. It is best to share your exact pin code with the supplier to confirm delivery costs and accessibility.

For standard orders within city limits, delivery usually occurs within 24 to 48 hours. For bulk orders or specific high-grade cement, you may require a slightly longer lead time as the supplier may need to arrange stock from the warehouse.

Cement and building material prices fluctuate frequently based on market demand, fuel costs, and local taxes. While we provide an estimated price range (e.g., ₹440 – ₹460 per bag), the exact final price, including delivery and local levies, will be provided by the verified supplier when you request a quote.
